Can I automate workflows across different AI tools and services?
Use an integration platform as the center
Integration platforms act as a hub. They can connect to both AI APIs, such as language model endpoints, and ordinary business tools, such as a CRM, email, or a database. Build your workflow in the hub, not inside each separate tool.
Connect to AI APIs directly
Most AI services expose a REST API: you send text and get a response back. In your automation, add an HTTP request step pointing at the AI service endpoint, map your input data, and capture the output.
Chain multiple AI tools
Feed the output of one model into another. For example, summarize text with one API, then pass that summary to another for sentiment analysis. Each stage is simply another request in your workflow.
Add context from other systems
Pull customer data from your CRM, send it to an AI step for personalization, then post the result back to your email tool. The integration platform handles the data mapping between each system.
Mind cost and latency
Every AI call costs money and takes time. Design workflows so they do not call a model unnecessarily, batch requests where you can, and monitor usage to avoid a surprise bill.
Start simple: pick one AI service and one business tool, connect them, and confirm the integration works. Add complexity only once that first link is reliable.
Common questions
Do the AI tools need to be from the same vendor?
Will chaining AI steps slow things down?
